  • Advertisers with lower budgets or who want to start off with a small scale test campaign can do so easily by creating just one boost!
  • Start by creating a topic targeted boost blacklisting the Blacklist Tier 3 Traffic template (select the Editorial option if you are running content).
  • Set CPCs at a bid that is appropriate for your boost and ensure budget is set to limit the amount of spend you will receive.

Revcontent Traffic Quality Tiers
Tier 1: Highest quality, branded & organic traffic. Requires premium CPCs.
Tier 2: Standard traffic quality (the majority of sites fall into Tier 2). Average CPCs.
Tier 3: Higher volume, less branded traffic. Warrants lower-than-average CPCs.

Advanced Setup for Initial Launches: Direct Response Offers
We understand that not all traffic quality is the same, because of this, we recommend creating 3-4 boosts with varying CPCs to ensure you are able to monetize traffic across the network while still reaching your target ROI.

Step 1: Create a topic targeted boost targeting the Target Tier 1 Traffic template. This template is curated to include widgets with a longstanding history of quality performance and, as a result, require a higher price point than other sites in the network. Example sites within the Target Tier 1 Traffic template include Newsweek
,
FastCompany and TheAtlantic. We recommend targeting topics within this boost at premium CPCs.
    Bid Suggestions: $0.20-$0.80+
    Estimated Volume (Impressions/Month): 713,402,908

Step 2: Create a topic targeted boost targeting the niche-specific category of your offer, IF APPLICABLE. Widgets within these templates have high conversion and engagement rates specifically for their respective niches. As this targeting list is more granular than other templates
, the volume may be limited and will warrant higher CPCs.
    Bid Suggestions: $0.25-$1.00+

Step 3: Create a topic targeted boost targeting the Target Tier 3 Traffic template. This template includes high volume and newer widgets in the network that drive a high volume of traffic with lower EPCs. Advertisers should target topics within this boost at lower than average
CPCs.
    Bid Suggestions: $0.01-$0.05+
    Estimated Volume (Impressions/Month): 3,381,508,202

Step 4: Create a topic targeted boost blacklisting the Target Tier 2 Traffic (Blacklist Tier 1 & Tier 3) template. This template excludes lower tier widgets that do not warrant typical CPC bids as well as premium widgets that require above average
CPCs
.
    Bid Suggestions: $0.10-$0.60+
    Estimated Volume (Impressions/Month): 7,588,175,271

Advanced Setup for Initial Launches: Editorial Content
Editorial advertisers have unique goals and strategies to monetize their content. We recommend launching 3 boosts with a range of CPCs to ensure you are maximizing volume while minimizing risk.

NOTE: Ensure the templates you are selecting include “Editorial” in the name as these have been hand-picked specifically for editorial content.

Step 1: Create a topic targeted boost targeting the Target Tier 1 Traffic - Editorial (Target) template. This template is curated to include widgets with a longstanding history of quality performance and, as a result, require a higher price point than other sites in the network. Example sites within the Target Tier 1 Traffic - Editorial
template include Newsweek, FastCompany and TheAtlantic. We recommend targeting topics within this boost at premium CPCs.
    Bid Suggestions: $0.06-$0.25+
    Estimated Volume (Impressions/Month): 654,194,260

Step 2: Create a topic targeted boost targeting the Target Tier 3 Traffic - Editorial template. This template includes high volume and newer widgets in the network that drive a high volume of traffic with lower EPCs. Advertisers should target topics within this boost at lower than average
CPCs.
    Bid Suggestions: $0.01-$0.03+
    Estimated Volume (Impressions/Month): 2,319,898,409

Step 3: Create a topic targeted boost blacklisting the Target Tier 2 Traffic (Blacklists Tier & Tier 3 Editorial) template. This template excludes lower tier widgets that do not warrant typical CPC bids as well as premium widgets that require above average
CPCs
.
    Bid Suggestions: $0.04-$0.20+
    Estimated Volume (Impressions/Month): 6,436,076,841

Best Practices
If you are a Direct Response Advertiser -- ALWAYS place a conversion pixel on the last page of your sales funnel.
  • Tracking conversions will help your business measure the ROI of your Revcontent boosts by reporting on the actions taken by people after they’ve clicked your ad.
  • You can use conversion data to optimize your campaigns and determine where you want to adjust bids, setup widget optimization and test alternative bid types.

Only target 1 device per boost.

Set appropriate Language Targeting.
  • If your headline is in English, target either all languages or English alone.
  • If your headline is in a language other than English, select ONLY the language of your headline. If your language isn’t available, set to target all languages.
  • Make sure your headline language aligns with your country targeting.

Create 3-5 pieces of content per boost.

Build a tracking code using our easy to use form.
  • Source, Medium, and Name are REQUIRED in order to pass through to Google Analytics.
  • You can also track Topic/Brand targets, widget id, boost id and content id using Revcontent macros.
  • We recommend you do not use the checkboxes to enable passbacks.
Tips for Template Customization:
  • If you are running a Target Only Template, you can remove widget IDs you determine are not converting well for your offer.
  • If you are running a Blacklist Template, you can add widget IDs you determine are not converting well for your offer.

Don’t forget that you can make changes to any of these templates to reflect what works for you!

Each offer performs differently on the network. Testing utilizing any Optimization Templates does not guarantee conversions. You should ensure you have tracking through a 3rd party such as Google Analytics or Voluum set up to pass back information so you can better assess the results of your test and determine what works for YOUR offer.
